If the study was funded by Merck and it's almost a certainty it was then they wouldn't be paying for any data. The contract would also allow distribution of any data solely with Merck's approval. Cytodyn as only the provider of a drug would not necessarily be entitled to the data unless there was a proviso that they get a copy of the data in exchange for providing leronlimab.

Seems to me there must have been such a proviso. Otherwise -- if they don't see the data from the trial -- then they've provided the drug and gotten absolutely nothing in return.
