Kgem, you may want to look at Toledo Bend Reservoir in Texas/Louisiana. Largest man-made lake in Texas, in the South, and 5th largest in the US. Covers 185,000 acres. The reason I mention it is because I have fished it and it is nothing but timber. They have cut boat lanes through the trees for boat traffic. Not all the lake is like this but a big part is. It was built for hydroelectric power. I mention it because I feel like we have dozens of reservoirs like this right here in the US. You're good at sorting out the good and bad ones.
