The link below has a succinct summary of the treatment landscape for PAH including sotatercept if anyone is interested. Pulmonary Artery Hypertension if severe will flood the right ventricle with elevated pressures leading to right sided heart failure. The right ventricle wall is about 3-5 millimeters thick (the left ventricle is twice that) so can’t handle the elevated pressure.
I was involved in a project once to optimize dosing of flolan and veletri for inpatient admits. Flolan is a continuous infusion usually through a central line and has stability issues at room temperature so must be prepared as needed. With all the challenges to maintain continuous dosing, it is still a lifeline for these patients. Some day soon I suspect Leronlimab will also prove a lifeline for patients in many indications.
