And since cholesterol doesn't kill you per se, but atherosclerosis does, google the 2022 article by H Chen on nattokinase. From the article:
"Conclusions: Our findings from this pioneer clinical study suggests that daily nattokinase supplementation is an effective way to manage the progression of atherosclerosis and potentially may be a better alternative to statins which are commonly used to reduce atherosclerosis and further to prevent cardiovascular attack and stroke in patients. The mechanism underlying the reduction of carotid atherosclerosis by NK may be independent from its lipid-lowering effect, which is different from that of statins."
The MOA involves thrombolytic, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects as well as modest decreases in lipids and significant increases in HDL.
So, please don't partake in spreading mis/disinformation. Do the research before you proselytize in favor of statins. They cause insulin resistance, deplete CoQ10, and lock in existing atherosclerotic plaque, with a limited affect on HDL. Take people's complaints about statins seriously, think creatively and outside the lines, and do the research!
