"Crossed the line" means "Broke the law".
"Crossed the line" means "Violated the document that guides the legal decisions of the United States of America".
"Crossed the line" means "Got public servants in our intelligence community killed".
"Crossed the line" means "Getting away with things that you yourself would be imprisoned, or perhaps executed for".
"Crossed the line" means "Performed traitorous acts".
"Crossed the line" means "Ignoring what our veterans died for. Ignoring what our veterans lost limbs for".

Logic, facts, truth or reasoning.
We've been doing that for what 6-7 years now, with little success
Trump spent the same time brainwashing them. "No truth. Fake News. I did nothing wrong." Simple concepts, susceptible people, repetition. Add in trump taking advantage of the short news cycle cycle and never putting himself out there to explain anything.
