One thing to understand is the TNC contract is most likely a turnkey contract to depth. That means TECO has a contract with TNC to drill a well with defined depth and casing sizes. It most likely has a time frame window in which TNC has to complete the well or TECO can cancel the contract. The rig TNC will use is just not sitting in a yard somewhere its on a well drilling. The contract its on now may have options for additional wells. Teco only control of the rig is to cancel the contract once its outside of the time window. Then they would have to get back in line with a rig company and start the process over. The Texas oil field is booming, getting any service company is tough. I work for major so we have a big stick to beat on the service companies with ( additional work). TECO does even have a twig with only 2-3 wells. They have to wait on TNC. TNC would not be doing site work if they are not on planning on coming.
