Trump's been telling some dangerous whoppers, according to his own former White House attorney.
Ty Cobb during an appearance on CNN's “Erin Burnett OutFront" remained confident that prosecutors would turn his former client into a punching bag for all the lying should he take the witness stand and testify.
"I'm not sure he will testify," Cobb said. "I'd say it's still 50-50 because as the lawyer in me says, you know, 'Why put him on?'"
Cobb continued:
"He's going to be subject to an eviscerating cross-examination which won't focus on what Trump wants to talk about, it will focus on every lie that he has told, you know, in the ten years that are relevant under these financial statements; and as we know, I mean, he told several more whoppers on the steps of the court today. There's a lot of material to work with."
Trump has lashed out at the $250 million civil lawsuit trial accusing him and his company the Trump Organization of committing widespread fraud. The case is winding down and he stares down the prospect of suffering stiff financial penalties and being banned from doing business in the Empire State.
“It’s a fraud," maintained Trump. "The whole case is a fraud."
