Comps. It's a wonderful thing. It's easy to put

It's easy to put a value on cars, boats, real estate as you can compare what stuff is selling for. Heck, even if you are selling something on eBay, chances are you can look up (in the advanced search), what similar stuff sold for and price your listing accordingly.
Companies a bit of a different thing. Especially startups. Especially in a new arena. Go find an equal. Double dog dare you.
We did have Whatnot valued at $3.7B last year, but Market.Live isn't Whatnot which I call Craigslist Garage Sale of Live Shopping.
TalkShopLive kind of, sort of the closest thing we got. Not apples to apples, but good enough. I am glad to see people posting here comparisons.
So here's another one that really jumps out from the link I posted yesterday.
"The startup has powered live shows for over 6,000 sellers, including many notable clients such as retail giants Walmart, Target and Best Buy, as well as Drew Barrymore, Dolly Parton and Jada Pinkett Smith, among others."
Are you thinking what I'm thinking?
red, those are 3 people you have zero interest in watching a Live Stream?
well yes, but not that.
red, something doesn't add up?
BINGO!
They are on track to do 2,000 Live Streams this year but have 6,000 sellers?
WTF. What am I missing?
"TalkShopLive was founded in 2018 and is based in West Hollywood, California."
Hey West Hollywood!
So TSL has been around for 5-6 years. Live Streaming 3-ish times longer than Verb?
Now it's possible they currently have 4000 sellers that signed up but never did a LiveStream. Too shy, got cold feet, dog ate the camera or whatever, but I doubt it. Even if that was the case, it would be the other 2,000 are only doing 1 Live Stream a year.
Seems like they have a LOT of attrition would be my guess.
Maybe hard to sell your stuff when you got everyone flocking to those celeb things.
Anywho, let's say TSL and Market.Live are equal.
What happens with institutions figure that out and start putting a similar value on Verb?
yip, yip, yip...I'd gladly pay you Tuesday for a x81 multiple today.
