There are different stories. Nader's story is close to an ending. In my treatment he was David-as-an-Iranian-refugee-with-a-shady-past. We pretty much know what happened to that David. His slingshot turned out to be a boomerang, and he got nailed.
But you're right. CYDY is still a kind of an innocent Pip character trying to make his way in a world of scheming Miss Havishams. And he still has great expectations. But the novel of education isn't close to over yet. The rite of passage is still in front of him.
