For the me, there were 4 things i took away:
1. The company has re-focused somewhat on HIV, a departure from Cyrus' plan. I like this - even though it's a smaller market, we've established that our drug works great in this space, and even if we can generate a small amount of revenue, it would create meaningful value for shareholders. Their mention of a cost-effective HIV clinical trial sounds really interesting.
2. work on a combination therapy in MASH - this could be a faster way to a partnership, and get traction in this space.
3. We've submitted everything on our end to the FDA. This is great news. Sure, the FDA could screw us, but i really hope they take into consideration the time, money and effort the company has put into this (not to mention the fact that the hold was a farce to begin with).
4. They expect to hire a CEO by YE and have "several" candidates. This is positive. My gut is that we were down the road with someone and it fell through - thus the long fuse on this - but if we have multiple interested candidates, then chances are we end up with a solid individual.
i'm sure there are a few on the board who will be shocked at my positive response - but i'm happy with this communication, and interested to see these things play out in the next 2 months. and big picture, i'm really happy to see them talk about "the long term" - and lay out details that suggest we are moving in a positive direction.
so, i'm having a drink to celebrate - i mean, it's Friday after all.
