A VERSE OR TWO FOR THE ANCIENT TREES
The moonlight it was dancing, on waves out on the sea
The stars of heaven hovered, in a shimmering galaxy
A voice from down the ages, so haunting in its song
The ancient trees will tell us, our earth is but our own
Our battles they may find us, no choice may be our own
We travel the wide oceans, we hear them call your name
With sword and gun and hatred, it all seems much the same
Some call your name for glory, some use it for their gain
Its not our place to wonder, the sky does weep from pain
And all God's living creatures, look on with mortal fears
Its ours to hold the banner, its ours to hold it long
Its ours to carry forward, our love shell make us strong
And as the last star shimmers, the new sun's day gives birth
And in this magic moment, a prayer was made for earth
May God protect our trees now, may God protect the earth
And in this magic moment, dawn greets our mother earth
