My crude understanding of cancer and cell proteins and cell etiquettes and their role in cell life is that it is only our DNA , which resides in the cell nucleus, that designs and produces our proteins and assigns such proteins their role in our cellular life. Here the Keck school is opining that a rogue protein (GRP78) previously developed according to the natural order of our DNA - RETURNS to the cell nucleus and mutinously takes command and control of protein design and production away from the natural order of DNA command and control?

Let's hope, as per ohm, Keck is inspired to start looking for an antidote (LL) to the mutinous
GRP78 protein .
