Donald Trump believes that he is above the law.
Quite frankly, he has every reason to believe that. since the 1970s, Donald Trump has crimed without consequence all the way through his entire soft, pampered life. even when caught, Trump has never suffered more than the slightest slap on the wrist.
Such is America’s two-tiered system of justice. if you’re wealthy, you can throw money at any problem. you can hire a shitload of lawyers. you can make a well-timed political donation, and poof, it all goes away.
If you were Donald Trump, wouldn’t you believe you were above the law?

Little Donny Fuckface was arraigned last Thursday for masterminding the January 6th insurrection. after being released without having to post bail, the judge warned him not to commit any further crimes, and to basically shut the fuck up and not threaten or intimidate anybody — or his bail agreement would be revoked.
If this were you or I, our lawyers would tell us to shut the fuck up, and oh boy, would we shut the fuck up.
But Donald Trump is a moron — and nobody tells Donald Trump what to do. shutting the fuck up was never going to be an option. and so, to nobody’s surprise, less than 24 hours later, this happened:
You’d think by now that Trump would have learned that the Man Who Convicts War Criminals in The Hague does not fuck around. Jack Smith responded immediately.
Federal prosecutors on Friday asked the judge overseeing former President Donald Trump's election interference case to bar him from publicly disclosing some of the evidence gathered during their investigation.
In a court filing, attorneys with the special counsel Jack Smith's office requested that U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan ensure that sensitive materials are used by Trump's defense team for only the trial, and that the former president view the materials in the presence of his lawyers.
Hours later, on Saturday, we learned that Judge Chutkan also does not fuck around.
The federal judge presiding over former President Trump’s election fraud case has ordered his attorneys to respond to prosecutors’ request for a protective order by Monday, according to a court filing Saturday.
Judge Tanya Chutkan gave Trump’s attorneys a single business day to respond to special counsel Jack Smith’s request for a strict protective order which would prevent Trump from discussing case evidence in public.
How do you know that you have pissed off a judge? When she gives you one day to respond to a filing.
Trump, through his ace team of traffic court lawyers, whined that this wasn’t fair, and that he should get all the time in the world to file a response. Delay, delay, delay, that’s one of Donny’s tools for escaping justice. Delay, delay, delay until everybody gives up, or until you’re elected president and you can make it all go away.
Judge Chutkan was having none of it. her response was immediate: fuck straight off. see you Monday at 5pm.
Holy shit, this judge is Donald Trump’s worst nightmare. she’s wise to all his stupid little tricks and she’s having none of it.

You would think that Donny might learn a lesson here, and maybe stop digging himself deeper.

And then last night he held one of his hate rallies and went after Jack Smith.
“He’s a deranged human being. you take a look at that face, you say that guy is a sick man.”
And this morning, even as I’m typing this, Trump is still at it:
Keep going, Donny. you’re about to find what it’s like to no longer be above the law. you’re going run your stupid mouth until you talk yourself into custody, and you’ll have no one to blame but your own reckless self.
