Unintended consequences? The best students will always ask questions, smell a rat, react with 'does not compute' when presented with information that doesn't ring true, doesn't square with what they learn outside of school, CAN learn on the Internet OR from banned books.
If they don't then they'll crash and burn on the trick SAT essay question; 'discuss the benefits of slavery to the slaves and their descendants'.
