Knightscope (NASDAQ: KSCP), a leading developer of autonomous security robots (“ASRs”) and blue light emergency communication systems, has released its exclusive Knightscope Emergency Management System (“KEMS”) platform. According to the announcement, the new software release represents the company’s ongoing commitment to reimagine public safety through the innovation of technology.
The new platform supports the company’s growing nationwide system of more than 7,000 K1 blue light towers, e-phones and call boxes. The cloud-based platform is designed to interact with the wide array of telecommunication technologies, power sources, geographic locations, equipment configurations and usage patterns established in the Knightscope system. It also enables clients and technicians to better understand the real-time health and status of the machines they are using. The new software monitors the system, alerts users concerning operational issues and provides technicians real-time error detection/diagnostics. The rollout of the new KEMS platform will continue throughout 2023.
“New features are being planned as part of Knightscope’s long-term strategy to conduct a significant overhaul of the Nation’s public safety infrastructure,” said Knightscope chair and CEO William Santana Li in the press release. “Connecting all machines-in-network across the country and embedding artificial intelligence across the product portfolio — enabling them to eventually be able to see, feel, hear, smell and speak — will make a dramatic difference in helping law enforcement and security professionals better secure our country.”
