Giga Lab Demonstrates How Tesla Makes EVs in China
Post# of 960
Tesla inaugurated its Shanghai Giga Lab, the first of its kind. During the opening, robots and craftspeople demonstrated for guests how the company’s electric cars are made in about 45 seconds. The Giga Lab, which is currently accessible to everyone, is positioned to continue the production and exhibition-style practices of its global siblings, including the Berlin-based Giga Factory.
The interior of the Giga Lab is gray and made of steel, using a basic and subdued design language to highlight the spacious space. It’s modeled after the Gigafactory in Shanghai. Tesla Asia has confirmed on Twitter that visitors can buy Tesla electric vehicles at the Giga Lab in Chengdu, which also serves as a store.
Tesla’s renowned robot arm is seen in an array of photos released from one of its facilities, including the one located in Berlin. The arm is assembling the Tesla Model 3’s frame by itself and with the help of a waterfall of threads that is keeping the design frame of the vehicle together. It is made to look like an exhibit.
To further educate the guests about the devices installed or capable of being installed, automotive parts are displayed in clear glass cabinets in the exhibit-style building. According to Tesla, the guests can witness Tesla’s intense beauty within the laboratory.
China’s first Giga Laboratory, owned by Tesla, is a meeting space where Tesla enthusiasts can gather, have a quick conversation and socialize. People can easily find seats and sofas that are evenly spaced to make the most of the room and avoid crowding. They can also learn about and appreciate the equipment and tools via the wall-mounted frames displaying auto parts and descriptions. Tesla vehicle types are parked within the Giga Laboratory to give guests a sense of what they might be driving after their visit and to provide them with an accurate representation of the electric vehicle technology.
In a blog post, Tesla’s China division claimed that with the aid of the laboratory’s robot arm, guests who tour the Giga Laboratory are shown how Tesla electric automobiles are built in just 45 seconds. The laboratory, according to the car company, is a place where modern art and technology converge and perhaps even incorporate design, thanks to its plain but well-lit atmosphere.
Within the Giga Laboratory in Chengdu, visitors can see the normally secretive procedure for producing automobiles and get a behind-the-scenes look at how Tesla builds its vehicles in its facilities.
This Giga Lab is Tesla’s way of roping in more premium customers. Other auto manufacturers such as Mullen Automotive Inc. (NASDAQ: MULN) are unlikely to feel pressured to respond in kind since they each have their own road maps for reaching the customers they target as buyers of their EV offerings.
