Comparing free access to muskets in colonial America ignores present day realities. There is no excuse for the absence of national uniform background checks, particularly because like the poor the mentally unhealthy are always with us.
And of course there is no credible rationale for the continued availability of assault rifles.
Seems like it's been awhile.....more than a week..... so we're due for another mass shooting to remind us of the insanity of doing nothing and instead settle for mumbling 'thoughts and prayers'.
Every time I hear it I think weak shit, cowardly and ineffectual.
By the way, in all the history of gun purchase background checks, and during the assault weapons purchase ban, not a single weapon was ever removed from anyone's home.
Lastly, the idiots who have the assault rifles would stand no chance against the government's automatic weapons, artillery, tanks and airpower.
So spare me any 'Red Dawn' wet dreams, wannabe Wolverine.
