I have a friend who is fighting melanoma with tumors on his face and in his eye and is facing immunotherapy treatment. He has really good oncologists he feels confident about but has had a kidney transplant in the past so immunotherapy carries a great risk of serious damage to his kidney, which is extremely worrisome to him. I'm assuming he will be taking Keytruda but am not certain.
As a CFS patient myself who is very reactive to pretty much everything, I know that doctors don't always fully grasp what's it's like dealing with side effects.
Any tips on methods to mitigate potential immunotherapy organ damage or alternate immunotherapies as effective with lesser chances of kidney damage that he could suggest to his doctors?
