I have thought as sepsis as an infection of the blood serum, not as cytokine storm. I know it leads to a septic shock where blood pressure tremendously drops to the point where there is hardly any blood brain perfusion, so patients could stroke out even. But about it being a cytokine storm, that is relatively new to me and since it wasn't taught originally, it wasn't sticking, but now, i will equate sepsis with cytokine storm.
