Trades would include both buys and sells. If one bought the entire OS then it would be 3.8 million trades. What about those that sell? If the same person that bought all the OS decided to sell the entire OS the same day, then that would make the daily trades roughly 7.6 million. Of course, it doesn't have to be only one person that buys or sells but rather all the buyers and sellers regardless of trade size. This means that technically there could be daily trades of 2X the OS, not including the retail shorts, illegal and legal naked shorts, or covering of these shorts.
