I would take ..IF.. off the table and forward your post directly to him...I believe it merits a response.
For myself...you hit the nail on the head...my hope is... it isn't a nail dedicated to further lack of disclosure or compromise...
This isn't the spirit world...it's Science and stats...and WE need plenty of both...for the journey we are undertaking.
We have gone from the ridiculous in disclosure policy...with the former regime...to an unholy silence...neither of which is the answer.
