If you run the edge of the law like Trump has always done… then you have a stable of lawyers just like Trump does. Being convicted once in a while is a terrible thing if you can’t justify it for its value.
To me… the guy that will never go to prison. I would hire the people that would keep me out of prison. Not risking myself for some financial gain you might get by skirting the law. It’s not worth it to me. Honesty was something my father taught me but he lived by one other mantra or life mission.
You only have one thing in this world that you can somewhat control and when you give your word to someone to do something… you make damn sure you follow up and make your word good. That’s your real value to friends and family is to be counted on when needed or not. To be dependable and solid.
Good values are taught… skirting the law is taught… Fred Trumps learned how to do both and passed it on to Donald and those are the values of a man I can never trust. How many people has Trump screwed by going bankrupt and then restarting businesses right back up under a different company name. Do you ever wonder why Trump was run out of the casino business? Screwed the wrong people to many times and couldn’t get the gambling licenses after awhile. Even the mafia wouldn’t deal with Donald. Or his poor business choices.
