Oilslueth,
might as well throw in a Tassie diamond mine there too.
Yes, diamonds are found in the Savage River but no one can explain where they come from. They find them as alluvials but there has never been a kimberlite identified. Go figure hey!
Linc picked up those tenements for a song not too long ago after they had a gut full from the QLD Gov re their UCG/GTL permits overlapped BG's CSG. Everyone thought that the Ackaringa basin Shale wouldn't yield any oil/gas.
Well well well,
As I said , Amazing things happen to rocks deep in the crust when they are under Heat and Pressure.
I wonder how Boss are extracting the oil from the Shale outcrop in North Tassie. MMMmmm...
Now don't get me wrong, EEGC is looking for conventional oil and they might of found it. What I am saying is that there is potential for unconventional as well which is covered under EEGC's tenement. I would suggest EEGC investigates on some more tenements on the west coast of Tassie.
I am also told of some major oil exploration of the West and Southern coasts of Tassie very soon. Some Electrical mates are doing courses for Off Shore Platforms and their teacher Told them that Exxon/Mobil will be swarming around Tassie in a few years with rigs and they had been warned to train extra sparkies.
Don't forget Exxon/mobil have been sucking Billions of dollars worth of oil From Tasmanian territorial waters in Bass Straight since the 60's. These field are more than 70% depleted and they would now be looking at relocating these rigs.
