The workers tested positive, showing they were suffering from a blastomycosis outbreak.
Blastomycosis is a pulmonary disease caused by inhaling spores of the dimorphic fungus Blastomyces dermatitidis.
It should be noted that Brilacidin showed promising stand-alone inhibition as well in multiple isolates of Mucorales, Fusarium sp., C. glabrata, C. parapsilosis, C. guillermondii, Lomentospora prolificans, Scedosporium apiospermum, Blastomyces dermatitidis and Histoplasma capsulatum.
Brilacidin has stand-alone inhibition and can stop Blastomycosis which is causing the largest fungal outbreak in US history.
Currently, there are twelve people who have been hospitalized, and close to 100 more are suspected of having cases.
