Yeah right Salty… tell me how they banned the freedom of pro choice? Tell me how in Florida you can’t learn about race theory. Tell me about all the bills that DeSantis is pushing that are taking away freedoms that other states won’t take away. Texas is just as bad at taking away freedoms. The only freedom that your red states will allow is guns and that isn’t a real special right when it comes too assault rifles.
I have a concealed pistol license in my state. I am and was an avid hunter. I believe in gun rights. But I have no issue in giving up assault rifles. For the benefit of less mass shootings it is no problem for me to give up the favorite weapons of choice… AR-15’s are not a hunting rifle and have no value to me. If it is the weapon of choice for mass shooters. Then take that weapon away. The scare tactic of the right wing is give them one gun and they will take away all guns. That’s pure stupidity and needs to stop. We have to use common sense in outlawing these type of weapons sold to just anyone.
Maybe Make a rule that you need to pass mental testing before your are licensed to have one? Might be a compromise. But just anyone owning such a gun is really not a good thing. Is there a real reason we need them?
