About Mellody Hobson
Hobson is the co-CEO and president of Ariel Investments, a Chicago-based firm with $16.8 billion in assets.
She also sits on the boards of Starbucks and JPMorgan Chase, and was chairman of Dreamworks' board until its sale to Comcast.
She's a longtime advocate for financial literacy, calling it the key to generations of success.
In October 2020, Hobson donated money to establish a new residential college at Princeton University, her alma mater.
Formerly named for president Woodrow Wilson, the college house will be the first at Princeton to be named for a Black woman.
