Well Shady… I am not a progressive. But I do believe in freedoms and not control of others. It’s not for you to tell me how to live my life. It’s not for me to tell you how to live your life either.
As for mandated drugs… none were mandated by the government unless you worked for the government and then you were still given the choice to work or find another job. Still had a choice. That will probably not happen again but at the time these decisions were made… they didn’t know how devastating Covid would be. It was made for the safety of the elderly who was being hit the hardest.
The borders are no more open right now than when Trump was president. Supreme Court ruled that way. But the far right would have you believe that it is an open door. Another lie that runs rampant in the far right.
I don’t know about your voting rules but mine are by mail and it’s covered by laws that would imprison you if falsely voting. Once you register and sign your name your signature like at the bank is your ID. When was the last time your bank suspected your withdrawal had picture ID? It could happen but does it or is the signature ample ID for your personal banking?
Where does this new world order come from? More conspiracy theorists? Does it look like the leaders of China and Russia are on board with a world order? Another far right BS fallacy that is preached.
Is Social Security a problem for you? Not enough or to much benefits that you and your employer matched in funding the program? Earned pensions are not ok with you?
What I see in the far right wing nuts is to take away freedoms and control like other dictatorships have done in the past. As they try to take total control. This is the fascist look that I keep seeing in the far right. Many of the things you mentioned as progressive should be taught by the parents and not to take away everyone’s freedoms because you can’t teach your own children your beliefs. You don’t have the right to take away freedoms of others because it doesn’t conform to your social beliefs. This is one of the main reasons from separation of church and government is in our constitution.
The constitution gives us freedoms and the most popular Republican leader currently in Trump wants the constitution thrown out. What the hell is that about and who would support the throwing out of the document that gives our citizens freedom? How does that not sound like an authoritarian future ruler?
Many things are wrong with the world in both of our worlds. Having debate is always good but the one point you mentioned that is important is to believe in science. The most important point you didn’t make that is everything to those that choose not to follow the lies is to seek the truth. We have the ability now to research the things we need to know the truth about. So make the effort and the truth will stop the hate and decisiveness. Because most of the things you mentioned have a different reality for me than they do for you. So should you be able to take away my freedoms since I don’t agree? Neither do I have the authority now or ever to take away your freedoms. So you can continue down the path of lies if you choose to not fact check and find the truth. It’s your freedom to be as Salty says…iggnaannt.
