Agree with jeff on this. All of this down time seems to evoke even more conjecture on the future. It sort of reminds me of another activity that requires certain attributes to be even moderately successful: Fishing. I live in a target rich environment for fishing. But not all people who fish have any....luck. What I see as most helpful is patience, followed by determination. Experience and skill also have an impact on how things turn out.
If you are not a patient person, you probably should take up bowling or target shooting. Horseracing is also a good option. What's the old adage, "skill and determination are the definition of luck.
Then there's, "you have to have a line in the water to catch a fish."
I like that one. We all apparently have lines in the water..so to speak.
