Guys,
Tassie has the most juiciest Shale on the Planet.
It outcrops up North and was mined and heated and had the oil extracted early last Century. Quite a number of barrels actually !!
Obviously this shale spreads beneath the rest of Tasmania.
Empire is looking for Conventional oil.
The potential of the Unconventional Shale via Fracking is a bigger story IMO.
Before anyone starts saying that the chemicals from Fracking wont be allowed blah blah blah, there is now a formula of liquified LNG and degradable fluids injected which dissolves back into gas and is recovered 100%.
If a long enough Horizontal is done, Fracking as the Yanks do it may not be necessary if Natural fractures are identified.
Now I don't want any smart asses coming back and stating that the Shale seam is only a few meters thick and wont bare anything.
Bullocks.
I suggest any drilling campaign at Bellevue etc, etc incorporates a decent horizontal kickoff of at least 800m into the Tassie Shale.
Our Shale is Kerogen Type 1 and all other source rocks are compared to this Globally.
