Recently discovered a pharmacogenomic testing process- called Genomind. FDA has indicted they believe that pharmacogenomics (the study of the role of the genome in drug response) will play a role in 'identifying responders and non-responders to medications, avoiding adverse events, and optimizing drug dose.'
In this case- it is primarily focused on mental health- up to 24 genes and about 800 medications. You order the kit online, do a cheek swab and get a report to help your doc understand how your genotype may affect tolerability and/or likelihood of responding to specific therapeutic options. I know 2 people that had life changing improvements when their docs used this testing to ID correct treatments. Am also aware of several folks- patients and mental health docs- that are fighting it tooth and nail.
Ready for the day- when docs can know how individuals metabolize medication across the board as easily as their blood type. "Patient has this much CCR5- so they need this much leronlimab..."
