Fantastic summary, Riz, I had not read this before. The blood chemistry is amazing, and some of the "details" of the production of this CCR5 blocker leave me numb, e.g.,
"researchers extract the B-cells from the spleen and then fuse them with human cancer cells called myelomas, to create a hybridoma."
How in the heck we can extract individual cells - then "fuse" them with other
cells - that leaves me numb. And then, how we can scale this up to produce in industrial size quantities?
I think I'll go back to my lantern and paper book, I can grasp ink and whale oil without assuming alien technology or witchery.
