Do you know why it was a topic and why right wing media made a big deal of it? Because Russia and China said we were making weapons of mass destruction by different means and one of them was biological weapons.
The fact sheet above explains why we were helping former Soviet satellite countries clean up their country. We were not there producing weapons biological or other.
So get a clue to the reason it was an issue in the first place and that the US government did what they were doing there and other satellite countries.
