How many sellers does the platform, that was valued at $3.7B and has the most sellers, really have? That answer was really hard to find...
WhatNot: “ A couple thousand” live sellers on the platform → Gross Merchandising Volume up 30x since March 2021 → Valued at $1.5 billion
This was right before WhatNot raised another $260M at the $3.7B
If you were to only use the number of sellers as the only criteria for valuation (which you wouldn't)...
2,000 sellers @ a valuation of $3.7B would be equal to...
300 sellers @ $555M
How many sellers does Verb's MARKET have?
300 ish?
If you've been following along, the first part of valuation was how fast the platform is growing relative to itself. That is really easy to to now as you've seen WhatNot increase their GMV by x30 and that isn't even revenue.
2nd part is number of sellers.
Any guess what the 3rd component of valuation would be that I'll post about?
