Pardon the interruption... Cousin Eddie pulled

Cousin Eddie pulled up with his mobile home again...
A friend once told me...
Invest in what you know.
Makes sense to me
He doesn't know technology so stays far away from it. Wealthy person I know.
Was trying to think of an analogy.
If your friend was a world class mountain climber and asked you if you'd like to climb K2 or Everest with her.
Would you go?
Let's take it a step further. She says I will share all my knowledge with you every step of the way.
Would you go?
Reward is quite clear. Would you set foot on that mountain without understanding the risk?
What if things went south for your whole group, which can happen quite often on K2 or Everest.
What would you do?
Cry, blame your friend, blame the team, blame the gear? How about blaming your Sherpas?
Would that make it better?
How about shouting at the team...
"You suck. I'm gonna get you. I'm gonna warn everyone I was naive about climbing but you forced me, Blah, Blah Blah"
Would it help you get up or down that mountain?
Why follow me to higher ground?
Lost as you swear I am
On every adventure I've been on with a group. I never turned back once. On some of them, everyone else did. Probably a wise choice as some would have gotten killed.
