It's (gonna be) a Wonderful Life ...
My two favorite Christmas are "It's a Wonderful Life" and "Joyeux Noel". Forget all the others. Most, if not all, are either stupid, ridiculous, insipid, or just plain disrespectful. This is the time of the year for giving thanks to The One who brung ya. Only Light shall extinguish darkness. I know where I'm going when I die. I also know where those who inhabit, and make possible, the darkness will go, and it couldn't happen to a better bunch of psychopaths.
As I have mentioned numerous times, we are in desperate times and it is up to each one of us to make it better. Reach out, say hello, make a friend, start a community b/c focussing on family only is myopic and misses the big picture. The gathering forces are global and ready, willing, and more than capable of snuffing out families just for the fun of it. Communities are formed through a commitment to a different way of living, an ideal if you like. One based on rational, selfless behavior not filthy, insane, dangerous greed.
This is the season for participating in that better community filled with joy and selfless behavior in the hope (always) it will carry over into everyday life. Our investment is one way to effect a change. Shift the mindset to healing, not having one's health 'managed' by snot-nosed, over-privileged pricks and greedy corpo-crats. Talk about your useless eaters!!!
So I encourage you to watch my two favorite movies and remember that communities are far more powerful than all the other really horrible entities that seek to control every aspect of our lives. Don't see the Amish taking those clot shots, do ya?
I suppose now would be a good time to confirm all the rumors. I did have a 'thing' for Donna Reed. She also was in "From Here to Eternity". Book and movie both excellent. And yes, I did watch every episode of "The Donna Reed Show". At last the secret is out.
