Really Shady… not to shock you but the Social Security Trust fund has never been borrowed against or used for anything. It’s a Republican lie that has circulated for over 40 years that the fund was used by the government. Never has any money been used for anything other than approved uses of the Social Security administration.

The fund is being depleting now for the past two years. We have had a surplus of monies waiting for the time when the baby boomers retirements came. When we didn’t have enough people in the work force to fund the current retirees. The trust fund is now being used to keep the payments solvent. They predict with more retirement of the baby boomers hitting hard that the fund will be depleted by 2030. So Social Security will then be reduced 25% for every recipient. This is our government at work and not solving a future problem the could of solved years ago and it was well known.

Remember how this use to be a question given to every candidate seeking a federal office? How are you going to fix Social Security?

They could of 10 years ago added a 1% deduction by employer and employee and Social Security would of been fixed for the next 75 years. Yet they couldn’t agree on anything.

It’s no wonder anymore when the rich and corporations control the government. The politicians don’t have to raise grass root money any longer. There is no honest politicians any longer. They are all bought and paid for. When was the last time a politician knocked on your front door for your vote? Doesn’t happen anymore because campaign money is mostly corporate or party supported.

It all started in the late 90’s when SCOTUS decided that corporations could contribute to campaigns as if they were people and the degradation of our government started then. The campaign donations limits were then adjusted for larger donations and bam… our government was bought by the powers of this country and stopped representing the people. It’s now a fallacy that we have a government by the people for the people.

Corporation donations to campaigns must be changed to being illegal again and donation limits need to be restored so our politicians do answer to the people when they raise campaign contributions. This is the way it use to be. It’s the way it should still be.
