A few years back, I went out to Vegas for the week

A number of investors were hanging out and Verb invited us all to dinner that evening. Kind of a spontaneous thing that was an extremely kind gesture.
As I remember, we go to the restaurant that evening and there are two tables. The Verb team started sitting at one and investors started sitting at another. Rory walked it and said no this isn't right. The restaurant found us 1 big table in a more quiet area where we could have a conversation and enjoy the evening. I've been to startup type dinners and held a few myself. This one was one of the best. To me it was exactly like getting together with family and old friends. I don't remember how long we were there, but it was hours.
The next night Verb was co-sponsoring an event at a bar. Once again, a very good time and great conversations, Afterwards a group of investors broke off on their own and had dinner. Great time as well.
It's a very interesting experience meeting the CEO and team of one of your investments. Also interesting meeting investors you've chatted with and read their posts for years. You go from a minute of, who are you? I don't really know you do I? to old friends. Probably if I met Buffi or some others, we'd get over it pretty quickly and tell some fig newton jokes had have a good laugh over a long island ice tea.
I get the stock is way, way, waaaayyyy down. For some odd reason, some thing we didn't notice. People including myself are not at all happy about it in anyway shape or form, but I also know how hard it is to startup a tech company. It's extreme hard. It's not like your are opening up a donut shop. If people want to lay the blame of it all on Rory's feet, fine. But if Rory left today or two years ago, likely would be in the same position or possibly worse. Only difference is people would be hat'n someone else and calling them a liar. I've said this before. Any stock is down, people get really crazy mad at the CEO. Heck even some stock that are up, they do so as well thinking the CEO is a failure and the stock should be even higher.
Rory and I are still in contact. He's always been kind and respectful to me. Listens to my ideas, etc. I know the entire company is trying as hard was they can to make this the biggest success possible. That is all I can ask for and I'll help in anyway I can. Best to ignore the noise and the lies.
