I think 1/2 the people probably don't. To follow a board, you click "Board Mark" kind of like bookmarking a site. I think people might get it better if it said something about Follow. When I first saw it, I was even wondering what that meant.
So when you "Board Mark", it gets added to your list when you click on Favorites way at the top. It's useful to take a glance there if you are following (Marking) other boards as you can see if there are new posts there be the indicator.
I imagine there are people that just bookmark the Verb board without an account and others that just look at one board even with an account and use a bookmark. If Investors changed up that habit a little bit, it would push Verb higher in the rankings and bring more attention to the stock.
I've heard many times Verb need more investor awareness. Well this is a way the 70+ longs and other investors can do a small part in helping their investment and I for one would appreciate that a lot.
