One nation under GOD...there was no Christian theocracy...or push. Freedom of Religion is the only bases for the Constitution.
Roman Catholic is not even listed as Christian... So, it was a attempted takeover by a non soververiegn government ... aka the Vatican and Rome. The Pope being the Supreme Ruler...aka GOD on Earth.
