the next lower tier-OTCQB- is really no problem either-all OTCQB companies are sec reporting- in fact, before otcmarkets.com formulated the QX/QB designations- OTCQB was simply called fully reporting-meaning sec reporting-except that perception matters to some bipedal humanoids,especially blue bloods (except semiprivate hedge funds which target many penny stocks- even nonreporting pinks-due to lower fiduciary requirements
QB has min bid price of only one cent plus a 10000 surcharge to be on QB rather than pink-when those QB requirements were added in 2014/2015(depending on a companies fiscal year)-many now former QB companies couldnt or wouldnt meet those requirements and thus they dropped down to the pinks-thus many pinks are sec reporting nowadays-this caused great confusion among investors-especially those with fiduciary duty requirements
but it served otc's purposes for greater transparency and greater fees /income from companies who are reported on otcmarkets.com- since otc essentially created a monopoly on otcmarkets.com -investors who want info on co's or are just searching for co's dont have much choice but to go to otc's centralized exchange
