Dumb F'k Trump thought he was being smart when he announced he was running for president.
All his announcement did was speed up the process of indicting him. Before Trump made his announcement Garland was on no timeline, no matter what other people think, now he is. When Trump announced he was running for president that set a timeline.
Garland knew at that moment he had to take action and he did. He hired Smith for a reason. To take swift action.
