except by "rumors" aka press releases - scant shown in actual filings.
The only thing more worthless than the trading shares in brokerage accounts are those 363 million Restricted shares with the Red "R" imprint. Try doing anything with those. I doubt anyone can ever again get the attorney's opinion letter and "source document" needed to remove the restriction and market such shares. And no brokerage is taking 0.0008 shares except some gouge brokerages of last resort. Count those R shares as expensive but worthless drawer liners.
Was there ever gold to back up the press releases? Didn't know in 2011 - don't know in 2022. Nobody knows if there is economic gold even for 11 years and 35 million dollars in trying. Hope and loyalty have kept some in the fold - most I suspect have sold and drifted away or not sold but still drifted away. I sincerely hope most Mexus owners have other investments that are viable even as the value of nearly all holdings have dropped in 2022.
The CEO has never been a strong communicator and Mexus is a one man band so there is no "second" to fill that role. I felt he was a decent guy early on and one on one he was interesting to talk with. I made the trip to Caborca and enjoyed his hospitality in 2015. If we end up holding an empty bag we'll see if some future entity learns how to extract gold from that fabled one million ounces under the desert scrub. The eye in the sky will tell us if at some point production resumes so that can't be hidden.
I have to hope there is a buyer or operating partner out there but I don't expect it after all the times we've awaited a Monday press release giving us a name to go with all those "talks" and all the "holding out for better" the CEO has done. Maybe should have taken a merely good deal long ago it there was one on the table.
