I wasn’t in high school in the 50’s or 60’s but I learned to pledge allegiance to my country every day in Grade school. We stood for our flag and it was instilled in me to this day. I like others my age will be able to recite the pledge of allegiance to our death with true patriotism to our country first. Instead when when I was in high school we have what we called Civic classes that taught us about every branch of government in our country and their obligations to the people and our country.
