Revenues From New Product Line Could Top $2 Million in 2014
TORRANCE, CA, Mar 11, 2013 (MARKETWIRE via COMTEX) -- Smack Sportswear (OTCBB: SMAK) ("Smack"), the leader in indoor and beach volleyball apparel, announced today its plans to launch the Smack 2013 Sand Volleyball Team Apparel line on Friday, March 15, 2013.
Since the inception of Sand Volleyball as an NCAA scholarship sport in 2011, popularity among youths, high school and college age, has begun to skyrocket. Prior to then, few opportunities existed for young athletes to play beach volleyball in an organized environment. Hundreds of indoor clubs have since initiated programs, and many of the top organizations like the AAU, USA Beach Volleyball, and the National Collegiate Sand Volleyball Association have taken notice. By 2014, over 1,500 organized sand club programs are expected to be operating in the U.S., compared to about 100 in 2012. As participation grows, so will the need for uniforms.
Smack's 2013 Sand Volleyball Team Apparel line was predominantly designed, developed and tested by today's top-rated pros like Jenny Kropp, Whitney Pavlik and Tyra Turner.
