Bottom line, separation of church from state was critical in a nation of many Christian sects. The religious wars in Europe were not that far in the past
for the Founders.
I shut down a prayer in schools proponent with the following.
Are you prepared for public school children of many faiths and no faiths being forced to listen to the Muslim Call to Prayer over the intercom?
Law suits will require that all religions be imposed in schools paid for by tax dollars from people of many faiths and of no faiths. Won't work.
