Trump Slams FBI in Truth Social Posts After Special Agent Leaves Bureau
ANOTHER CORRUPT FBI AGENT IS GONE !
Agent leaves FBI amid accusations of political bias in handling of Hunter Biden case
A supervisory agent in the FBI has reportedly left the agency amid accusations of political bias in his handling of the Hunter Biden investigation.
Timothy Thibault, the Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the FBI Washington Field Office, retired over the weekend, according to sources familiar with the matter, Fox News reported. In accordance with standard procedures, Thibault was escorted out of his office building Friday, the sources indicated.
Multiple high-level Republican senators say they received whistleblower information from within the FBI indicating bureau leadership, and in certain cases Thibault specifically, exhibited political bias when deciding whether or not to move forward with the investigation into Hunter Biden's foreign business dealings.
One of the legislators who alleged receiving this whistleblower information was ranking member of the Senate Judiciary Committee Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa. According to Grassley, while serving in his "highly sensitive" position at the Washington Field Office, Thibault engaged in critical "threshold decision-making" over federal public corruption matters.
" n October 2020, an avenue of additional derogatory Hunter Biden reporting was ordered closed at the direction of ASAC Thibault," Grassley wrote in a July letter chronicling the whistleblower allegations to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland and FBI Director Christopher Wray. "It's been alleged that the FBI HQ team suggested to the FBI agents that the information was at risk of disinformation; however, according to allegations, all of the reporting was either verified or verifiable via criminal search warrants."
"In addition, ASAC Thibault allegedly ordered the matter closed without providing a valid reason as required by FBI guidelines," Grassley continued in his letter.
"Despite the matter being closed in such a way that the investigative avenue might be opened later, it’s alleged that FBI officials, including ASAC Thibault, subsequently attempted to improperly mark the matter in FBI systems so that it could not be opened in the future."
Wray said during a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing earlier this month that the whistleblower allegations were "deeply troubling." He also reportedly promised that the whistleblowers would be protected and removed Thibault from his supervisory role.
