Suspension of belief is the intentional avoidance of critical thinking skills. Trump defenders have shown this lack of thinking for quite some time. Instead they live in a perpetual fantasyland of presidential reinstatements- not going to happen, martial law- never happened, election do-overs- nope and a magical 2024 comeback- won't happen.
I can tell you this, mid-republicans and independents see the light. We know that Trump is a toxic poison to democracy in this country. We also use critical thinking skills and can surmise that the DOJ has Trump nailed on espionage, obstruction and potentially other crimes, while Georgia is moving toward nailing him on election interference and NY is moving toward taking out the Trump Org and its assets.
MAGA will wail and seethe and threaten violence, and in pockets they may act on it, but nothing the FBI, local police departments, and if necessary the National Guard won't be able to handle.
