Under Federal Right to Try a clinical hold will block a drugs use. Cytodyn was using State Right to Try laws. Many States if not all require the drug to be in use in a clinical trial approved by the FDA. Of course a clinical hold would stop the trials and block State Right to Try.
The partial clinical hold for leronlimab in HIV may be considered still in use in trials. However Cytodyn may be fearful of raising the FDA's ire if they permitted Right to Try at all. Under new management putting the patient first may have taken a back seat.
