IPIX is scheduled to have a poster presentation where poster setup begins at 0900, presenters are present at posters from 1000-1200, and poster take down will be NLT 1400.
The above data is from the link above regarding the agenda for the Symposium. Hit the poster presentation schedule and on page 3 you will find the Development of New Front line Therapies to Prevent and Treat Endemic Viral Diseases (non SARS-Cov 2)of which the Brilacidin poster is a part. The name of the B presentation is "Brilacidin, a Host Defensin Peptide Mimetic, Shows Potential as a Broad Spectrum Countermeasure Strategy Against Acutely Infectious Viruses".
If one reads the IPIX PRs from 2021 it appears that this is going to be pretty much the identical presentation they were prepared to give last year. Though the MHSRS was cancelled last year due to Covid, it seems that the presentation was given 21July 2021 to the American Society of Virology and concentrated on bunyviruses and alphaviruses.
At last year's MHSRS scientists from George Mason were due to PRESENT B while this year it is only a poster presentation. My question is whether they will be presenting new data acquired over the last year for a much wider range of viruses than just buny and alpha viruses. As a poster presentation, will it be GM scientists at the poster this year giving the background information on the drug?
Not sure how many visitors usually visit a poster presentation (there are no live presentations being given so the posters should have the limelight for the 2 hours the presenters are there) or whether there is any heavy hitting new data this year that might spur more interest.
I know that this presentation can't do anything but help B and IPIX but I do wonder to what degree that will be. It doesn't seem like the Virology presentation has spurred any interest as the only word we have received was that the govt was going to test B against 20 or more viruses and I thought this came out last Fall but I can't find the actual PR or announcement of the testing.
My take is that the MHSRS could do some good for IPIX but to date such information seems to have fallen on deaf ears. But who knows, maybe this time is the charm.
Getting a little PO'd that we have heard nothing on the 20+ virus testing in the lab regarding B. IMO someone is dragging their feet but that is only an opinion.
Hoping for the best, believe a partner for the P3 OM trial is the main bit of news that would actually move the company forward.
