Your post has me going back a few years........ My older brother, rest his soul, had two very fine sons. They both grew into manhood and the youngest son got married first. Two years go by, and my Bro and his wife are very much wanting to be grandparents but, alas, there was not even a hint of a baby bump anywhere to be seen. A third year passes with Bro and bride still wandering the Grandthing Desert but hope once again raises its head when their oldest son gets married. Unfortunately, hope, like a librul nutburger wet dream, can be fleeting so two more years pass and the grandparent wannabees remain grandparent wannabees............... With the passage of now eight or nine years, Bro and Bride are getting desperate so they decide it's time to take matters into their own hands, so, they go shopping and buy two rocking horses and took one to each of their sons and said, "Fill 'er up!". Well, my nephews were/are super fine lads, so they listened to the old man and in no time at all both daughters-in-law were in the family way. In fact, it looked as if one of them was going to drop a rhino..... They both hatched off their younguns about a month apart and both went through the process for a second time about two years later.
I can remember Russ talking about wanting to be a granddad and I probably wasn't too comforting when I said. "Well, maybe the boys are shooting blanks."
